Honor Guard
The Honor Guard is a prestigious unit of officers who perform precision ceremonial movements at
police officer funerals, holiday ceremonies, and other special events. Their expertise was recognized
for four consecutive years, 1996 through 1999, when the unit was selected as the featured Honor Guard
at the Annual Florida Police Memorial Service in Miami, earning the unit the cover photo on the National
Association of Chiefs of Police magazine. The unit also participates with the local VFW and other groups
to honor our nation’s military personnel.
The Honor Guard performs military functions including rifle salutes, casket watch, and presentation of colors.
During memorial services, the Honor Guard assists all officers and families following the loss of loved ones.
