As the daylight faded, crowds enjoyed the musical acts on the City Stage.

These high school-age singers, dancers and musicians put on an energetic performance.

Accompanied to festive jazz and stellar singing, the dancers entertained the audience.

At sunset, the climbing tower and bounce houses were still going strong.

By 7:30, though, festival-goers wrapped up their activities and headed to the main areas to get a good seat for the fireworks.

Concession lines were winding down as people found their special spot to watch the fireworks.

At 7:40 p.m. the fireworks started with a bang.

The 30-minute pyrotechnics show took all day to set up.

Whooooaaa...

Whoooo...

The fireworks finale finished up at 8:10 p.m.

Weary, but happy Butterfly Festival goers returned to Government Center on the silent, air conditioned Electric Express buses.
