Many people chose to avoid parking hassles and ride the bus from Government Center to the festival.

For many, it was their first time riding the City's environmentally-friendly electric buses.

Children were given free souvenir Electic Express dolls.

Entering the park, visitors saw the Festival's schedule of events.

150 students from City elementary schools were invited to attend a "Butterfly Kite Flying Extravaganza".

Students had entered a school-wide butterfly art contest.

50 winners were chosen from each of Coconut Creek's three elementary schools.

All winners were given their own kite to take home afterward.

Of course, some assembly was required.

Group efforts at kite assembly became a social activity.

All winners were enthusiastic once they saw their kites completed.

The kites were more than three feet across and made from durable nylon.

For some, it was their first kite-flying experience.

Flyers (and parents) were invited to fly their butterflies on one of three baseball fields at the park.

The weather was perfect - a beautiful, windy day!
