Finance and Administrative Services

The Department of Finance and Administrative Services provides critical financial and managerial support to City
operations, administration, and the City Commission. The goal of the department is to provide quality internal and
external financial services to the City of Coconut Creek by exercising sound financial leadership, planning, and
guidance; recommending, establishing, and maintaining sound fiscal policies and practices; and offering adequate
financial control and flexibility. We embrace innovative approaches to deliver quality services to all of our constituents.
Responsibilities
Finance Administration
We conduct research, analyses, and make recommendations regarding policy formulations, operational planning,
and program evaluation as well as overseeing the entire operations of the department.

Accounting
We maintain all accounting records as well as the computerized accounting system, accounts payable, payroll,
accounts receivable, and preparation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.

Utility Billing and Customer Services
We handle responsibility of timely billing and collection of water and wastewater revenues as well as providing
courteous and efficient customer service.

Purchasing
We competitively secure goods and services for the City using effective, efficient, and economical purchasing methods.

Central Reception
We greet and direct customers and visitors throughout City Hall, and also handle all incoming telephone calls to the
City’s main phone number, and manage all incoming and outgoing mail.

Treasury
We manage cash flow, daily banking activities, cashiering and revenue collection, investments, and debt administration.
|
Budget
We develop and prepare the Comprehensive Annual Budget and Five Year Capital Improvement Program as well as administer
budget transfers and monitor the status of the City’s financial performance.
