Occupational Licenses (Now known as BUSINESS TAX RECEIPTS)
*Effective July 1, 2007, the Florida Legislature has revised the time frame during which counties and municipalities may collect local business taxes by providing that a local government may start collections for the annual renewal of local business tax receipts on July 1 instead of August 1. This allows the business owner an extra month to renew without penalties.
If you are conducting business in the City of Coconut Creek, you are required to obtain a
City Business Tax Receipt and a Broward County Business Tax Receipt.
Receipts are valid for one year based on the fiscal year, from October 1 through September 30.
There are two kinds of Business Tax Receipts:
Business Tax Receipts for businesses.
This Business Tax Receipt is required for all businesses that are not conducted from the home
including all professions, trades, wholesale and retail shops, and industry-based businesses.

If your business involves the sale of alcoholic beverages, please complete the “Businesses Involving Alcoholic Beverage
Sale and/or Consumption”
form. Please forward a copy of your Beverage License.
If you are a Food Vendor, please complete the "
Food Vendor Supplement to Business Application" form.
Please forward copies of the required documentation as stated on the form.

Business Tax Receipts for home-based businesses.
This license is required for all businesses that do not have an office location and conduct business
transactions from their Coconut Creek home.

Please be sure to forward all the required attachments as listed on Page 2.
Home Businesses are subject to the provisions listed in Chapter 18, Section 36 "Home Occupations"
of the City's Code of Ordinances. See pages 3 - 5 of the Home Based Business application for details.

The completed applications should be notarized and either faxed to (954) 956-1424, Attn: Business Tax Receipt,
mailed or brought in person to: City of Coconut Creek, Attn: Business Tax Receipt, 4800 West Copans Road, Coconut
Creek, FL 33063. If you are faxing or mailing the application, please include a copy of the business owner's driver's license.

Broward County Business Tax Receipt |
The County Business Tax Receipt Office is located in the Broward
County Government Center: 115 South Andrews Ave, Room A-100,Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301.
It is typical to obtain the City Business Tax Receipt prior to obtaining the County Business Tax Receipt to ensure your business
meets local zoning requirements.

Renewing Your Business Tax Receipt |
|
Business Tax Receipt renewal notices are mailed the first week of July to current receipt holders for payment
no later than September 30. Any payments received after September 30 will incur penalties. Business
owners should sign and date the renewal notice and forward to the Business Tax Receipt Division
along with all other State and/or County licenses or certifications. Payments can be made On Line by
Visa or Mastercard, delivered in person or mailed to 4800 W Copans Rd, Coconut Creek, FL 33063,
Attn: Business Tax Receipt.
