The Broward County Consumer Affairs Division will hold a free Small Claims Court Clinic on Wed., August 11, 2004, at the City of Coconut Creek Recreation Complex, 4455 Sol Press Blvd., from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The clinic will provide information on how to file a small claim in court, explain court procedures and how to prepare for your day in court.

Although the clinic will not address individual legal problems, it will provide information on proper filing, fees, subpoenas, and more.

The purpose of the clinic is to provide the public with a better understanding of what is required to file a suit in small claims court,” said Mona Fandel, Esq., Director of the Consumer Affairs Division.

Special guest speaker, the Hon. Kathleen Ireland, County Court Judge, will join representatives from the Clerk of the Court, the Sheriff=s Office, and the Consumer Affairs Division. A question-and-answer session will be held after the presentation.

Future small claims court clinics are scheduled:

Monday, March 15, 2004, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the Hollywood Beach Cultural Center, 1301 S. Ocean Drive (A-1-A).

Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at the Dixon Ahl Center, 2220 N.E. 39th Street, Lighthouse Point, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Wednesday, August 11, 2004, at the City of Coconut Creek Recreation Complex, 4455 Sol Press Blvd., from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Tuesday, October 12, 2004, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Lauderdale Lakes (location to be determined)*

Monday, December 6, 2004, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in Sunrise (location to be determined). *
