Case Study: Tradewinds Engine Services
 July 28, 2002
Tradewinds Engine Services is another example of a growing business in Coconut Creek. This six-year-old company buys commercial jet engines, disassembles them for parts, and refurbishes those parts to sell back to airlines and overhaul shops.
Tradewinds, and a related company, reported nearly $20 million in sales last year. Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood Mark Kreisel, the International Airport president and owner of Tradewinds Engine Services, built his firm in Lyons Business Park, and now employs a staff of 17.
Growth has brought about expansion and Kreisel has chosen the Lyons Technology Center for a new 25,000 square foot facility, with the ability to double that space later.
Why Coconut Creek?
"I've always liked the area and I live two miles down the road," said Kreisel. "When I started the company, it just worked out with Coconut Creek. The highway access is very convenient, and it's not as pricey as Boca (Raton)." Posted on July 28, 2002 05:14 PM |
